Tough Bianca holds her own against odds

MANILA, Philippines - Exceptional talent, strategy and determination pivoted another big show from Bianca Bustamante of Formula-E Racing who captured an impressive runner-up finish in the Asian Mini-ROK class recently in the Philippine leg of the 2014 Asian Karting Open Championship Series at the Carmona Racetrack.

The eight-year-old talented young lady ace, who’s now under the helm of Viva Sports Management, provided the action as she keeps coming back after every fall and that strong will to get back on top almost steered her to a second straight win after clinching the Asian Mini-ROK crown in the Macau kickoff leg.

She exhibited that point early in the qualifying heats where she ended fifth in the Qualifying Heat 1 and skidded further to eighth in the Qualifying Heat 2 but raised her game up as she took a giant leap checking in third in Qualifying Heat 3.

After the consolidated results, she started fifth on the grid but the competitive spirit of a champion in her pushed her to strive harder as she moved up third in the pre-finals. 

Gaining better chances for a back-to-back triumph, Bustamante drove near-flawlessly in the final race as she exploited every opportunity to move up until she inched just close behind frontrunning Eduardo Coseteng Jr. after a slight mix-up with Yu Chuen Yiu Royce of Hong Kong.

A lap later, she made a decisive move taking the inside lane to slip past Coseteng Jr. at the first turn to wrest the front seat.  However, her lead was short-lived as Coseteng quickly regained the top spot.

But even to the end, Bianca continued to challenge eventual champion Coseteng as she checked in just 0.218 of a second behind.

With her runner-up finish, Bustamante kept her hold of solo leadership for the Asian Mini-ROK plum.
