Zsa Zsa Padilla top bills Robinsons Malls’ holiday shows

Zsa Zsa Padilla with special guest Richard Yap will have a holiday show at Robinsons Magnolia on December 10, 6pm.

MANILA, Philippines — Christmas carols fill the air as Zsa Zsa Padilla, Richard Yap, Darren Espanto, Nyoy Volante and Robinsons Malls celebrity endorser Maja Salvador serenade shoppers with well-loved holiday ditties at Robinsons Malls.

Zsa-Zsa kicked off the mall’s holiday performances last Dec. 2 with special guest Richard Yap at Robinsons Place Manila.

She set the holiday mood with a medley of popular Filipino Christmas songs Ang Pasko ay Sumapit and Pasko Na Naman, followed by Pasko Na Sinta Ko and Sana Ngayong Pasko.

Clad in a red frock accented with a big bow on the shoulder, Zsa Zsa looked every inch a diva as she sang Kahit Isang Saglit Maging Sino Ka Man, Ikaw Lamang and a Louie Ocampo medley with so much feeling. She then brought the house down with her single Point of No Return to the delight of mall habitues.

Zsa Zsa rose to fame in the ’80s, first as part of a show band, before embarking on a solo career that propelled her to hit-maker status.

Looking dapper in a gray suit, Richard Yap spread love and cheer as he performed well-loved Christmas songs such as Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas and Perfect Christmas, Michael Buble’s Everything and You’ll Never Find.

Aside from being a debonair leading man on TV, Richard is also a recording artist and concert performer.

“We chose the Divine Diva to top bill this year’s Robinsons Malls’ holiday performances because she’s an icon. And we thought Richard Yap, with his disarming looks and voice, would be a nice complement,” shares Arlene Magtibay, Robinsons Land Corp. commercial centers division general manager.

Catch the Divine Diva tomorrow, Dec. 10 at Robinsons Galleria with special guest “Ser Chief” Richard Yap.

It’s going to be an “Acoustic Christmas” with Nyoy Volant and Luke Mejares at Robinsons Antipolo on Dec. 10.

“This year, we have more artists and branded shows lined up since we opened new malls earlier this year. Another one is set to open this month,” Magtibay added.

Robinsons Malls celebrity endorser Maja Salvador will have a mall show on Dec. 17 at Robinsons Metro East, while Darren Espanto stars in a holiday musical at Forum Robinsons on Dec. 17.

Adding to the Christmas cheer are The Voice Teens namely Jona Soquite, Isabela Vinzon, Jeremy Glinoga, Franz Dacanay, Mike Escutin. They will perform on Dec. 16 at Robinsons Metro East.

This is the first time that The Voice Teens will be including Christmas numbers in their set.

“We really wanted to have them in our program because these teens —fresh from their last The Voice series — are among the hottest rising stars in the music scene today,” Magtibay said.

For Robinsons Malls, Christmas means bringing joy and delight to shoppers and their families by mounting exciting events for them to enjoy — together!
