'Art Luzon' showcases contemporary art in Tarlac

MANILA, Philippines – A bigger and brighter Art Luzon has returned this October with its 2026 edition called "Across Regions," and it has filled two main venues, Bulwagang Kanlahi and Maria Cristina Park in Tarlac, with contemporary art.
Organized by the Provincial Government of Tarlac through its Provincial Tourism Office, the ongoing nine-day exhibit is showing how it has grown from being a conventional art fair to a hybrid platform that brings together artists, galleries, collectives, institutions, and cultural practitioners from across the Philippines and beyond.
This is rooted on the belief that contemporary art should move across boundaries and constantly create new art experiences for everyone to enjoy. From gallery presentation to site-responsive installation, this year’s exhibit reflects the diversity and depth of a creative community that spans regions, disciplines, and generations.
“Art Luzon exist to move ideas, practices, and people across regions, to put established galleries and community-rooted work in the same room, and let them speak to each other,” the Art Luzon 2026 Curatorial Team collectively said.
Thus, this year’s edition builds on that founding vision, anchored by a large-scale bamboo public art program at Maria Cristina Park, realized in partnership with Kawayan Collectives, alongside gallery booths, curated exhibitors, and public programs at Bulwagang Kanlahi.
Visitors can experience a full and immersive program at Art Luzon 2026. These include curated exhibitions from across Luzon and beyond, and a site-responsive bamboo installation at Maria Cristina Park, artist talks, workshops led by exhibiting and invited artists and curators, also daily opportunities to meet the creatives behind the work.
But beyond being merely a powerful showcase of existing Philippine contemporary art, the 2026 edition of Art Luzon starts building what its organizers hold dear as their bigger and broader objective, and that is to put in place a sustainable, borderless institution designed to redefine the contemporary art experience.
Art Luzon 2026 is ongoing in its two main venues in Tarlac until October 18, 2026.
