1st Philippine Eaglet hatched Unassisted

DAVAO CITY, Philippines — The Philippine Eagle Foundation (PEF) recently marked its 38th anniversary with the hatching of the 31st Philippine Eagle chick.
The eaglet, named Riley, an offspring of Sinag and Dakila, was born on Jan. 16.
“The hatching of Riley is groundbreaking as it is the first-ever documented unassisted natural hatching,” the PEF said. “This is a true testament to the resilience and strength of our conservation efforts.”
The foundation said Riley is growing stronger every day and would be moved to a larger nest to accommodate her increasing size.
“Riley’s arrival is a symbol of hope and a reminder of the importance of unity in protecting our natural heritage. Together, we are making a lasting impact,” the PEF said.
The foundation thanked Eagle Cement Corp. for adopting Riley and helping preserve the Philippine Eagle.
