Ralph Edwin Villanueva - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority issued 1,426 tickets to vehicle owners during a crackdown this month, the MMDA said on Friday.

In a Facebook post, the MMDA’s Task Force Special Operations and Anti-Colorum Unit issued the tickets from April 1 to 27 for illegal parking, public utility vehicles (PUVs) operating out of line or outside their registered routes and unregistered vehicles.

The task force also towed 198 cars and impounded 236 more.

The MMDA also noted that of the total number of tickets issued, 32 were for out-of-line PUVs while 28 PUVs were colorum or unregistered.

The agency said it would continue to crack down on illegal parking and remove road obstructions in the metropolis.
