Quezon City breaches 2 million vaccination mark
MANILA, Philippines — Following the three-day national vaccination program this week, the Quezon City government said it has inoculated over two million people against COVID-19.
As of yesterday, data showed that 2,095,914 residents, workers and members of the pediatric population in the city have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccines.
The number includes 1,908,843 residents who were fully vaccinated as of Dec. 1.
The local government said 24,351 residents belonging to priority groups have received booster shots, bringing to 4,029,108 the total vaccine doses administered.
Mayor Joy Belmonte earlier said the city government would continue with the vaccine rollout even after achieving its initial target of 1.7 million people to achieve population protection.
The number of areas in Quezon City placed on lockdown dropped from as high as 70 last August to only one this week.
