Rob gang caught on New Year

Non Alquitran - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – Three members of a robbery gang were caught trying to rob a pawnshop in Binangonan, Rizal hours before the 2016 New Year’s revelry.

Suspects Gerald Matinag, 27, Andey Palok, 36, and Toney Magayam, 43, were caught destroying the back wall of the Villarica Pawnshop in Barangay Pag-asa by a team led by Superintendent Noel Versoza, chief of the Binangonan police office.

The suspects yielded an LPG tank, an oxygen tank, an acetylene torch, a manual hand drill and two iron bars.

Balba said the gang rented a house near the pawnshop several days before their arrest and were already preparing their equipment when members of the barangay intelligence network told the police.
