LU farmers start planting

-

SAN FERNANDO – Farmers across La Union have started to till their ricefields as heavy rainfall in the past two days provided a respite from weeks of drought.

“Our farmers were relieved. Areas not yet planted are now being tilled for the immediate planting of palay seedlings,” said provincial agriculturist Avelino Lomboy.

Meanwhile, the regional civil defense office said heavy rains spawned by tropical storm “Chedeng” caused flooding and minor landslides in several areas in Ilocos Sur
