Class and comfort at Viven Hotel

Dandi Galvez - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Ilocos Norte has offered tourists many natural and heritage sites to explore over the past few years. Many are now recognizing the province for places such as the Kapurpurawan Rock Formation, the surfers’ paradise Pagudpud, and the Bangui windmills. Of course, there’s the famous native delicacies from Vigan — longganisa to the ever-popular longganisa empanada which tourists can’t get enough of. When you find yourself looking for a good place to stay to experience everything the province has to offer, it’s a good idea to check out Viven Hotel.

Located in San Nicolas, just a few kilometers across the bridge to Laoag City and about 10 minutes from the airport, Viven Hotel is the go-to place for business travelers and tourists. Rooms are marked by their simplicity and class influenced partially by typical Ilocano homes. Many retail and food establishments surround the hotel as well as a nearby shopping mall. Within the same building as the hotel are lifestyle facilities such as coffee shops, bars, a KTV establishment, Casino Filipino, fast-food stores, a spa, boutiques and the like. If you are looking for a perfect hub from where to tour the city, chances are Viven Hotel fits the bill.

Each room has free high-speed Wi-Fi, ensuring that business travelers are connected and tourists get to update their social media accounts of their Ilocos experience. For meetings, the TriBeca Coffee Shop opens early and closes late to accommodate all the guests’ needs. Back in the rooms, all mattresses are specially designed to prevent and relieve back pains; lightweight duvet covers provide warmth and a good night’s sleep.

Tourists need not worry about missing out on some cool sights during their time in the province. Viven Hotel offers tour packages, which include heritage tours in and around Ilocos Norte and Vigan. These places include Kapurpurawan, the Burgos Lighthouse, a visit to the windmills of Bangui and many more. The packages also include in-room massage and various services such as use of the KTV bar. Various restaurants around the area can satisfy everyone’s hunger during breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Having been open for only two months, Viven Hotel has received satisfying feedback from guests who have often returned. Groups, corporate accounts and patrons of the nearby Casino Filipino have been happy with the hotel’s service and no-nonsense appeal. Meanwhile, tourists have further noted the cleanliness of the facilities and the overall friendliness of the staff.

Ongoing promotions include 50 percent off rates for local residents up to January 2014; 60 percent off for December; a Laoag City Fiesta Rate for balikbayans and tourists in February 2014 at 60 percent off; and a 50 percent off room sale for March to June 2014 with a selling period from December to January 2014.

There’s much to be said about the value you get for a place that can provide all the things you need for vacation — food, clean lodgings, security, and professional staff — and the convenience the place provides in accessing the many tourist spots you need to cover. Viven Hotel offers what you need in a simple and straightforward manner no matter what your purpose is.
