New hygiene spray can be used by pets, owners

MANILA, Philippines — Pet wellness brand Dr. Shiba recently launched a new multi-functional hygiene spray that can be used on pets, by their owners and within the household.
The new Magic Mist spray contains the active ingredient Hypochlorous Acid or HOCI, a molecule the body naturally produces as part of its immune response.
Both the World Health Organization and the Environmental Protection Agency of the United States recognize the use of HOCI for disinfection, and for years it's been used in hospitals and veterinary clinics for wound cleansing, healing, and skin care.
The spray itself is pH-balanced, free of fragrance, additives, and alcohol, and has no heavy metals or harsh chemicals, yet manages to kill 99.9% of bacteria and viruses within a minute.
It is also gentle enough that pets can lick it off once the spray takes effects and again, can be used on household surfaces and human hands.
Brand founder and chief executive officer Phil Renner said in a statement that clients wanted a singular product for hygiene, comparing Magic Mist to a Swiss Army Knife.
Veterinarian Roxanne Ignacio doubled down on the spray, giving pet owners clinical-grade wound care and disinfection as backed by the same science used in veterinary clinic.
