A much-awaited March

OH YES, IT'S JOHNNY! - Johnny Litton - The Philippine Star

The traditional procession of biblical characters an enduring legacy of Filipino history and culture  was once again held in Intramuros.  The yearly colorful procession was sponsored by Society for Cultural Enrichment Inc. (SCEI) with Intramuros Administration (IA), National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCAA), Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP), and the Filipino Heritage Festival Inc. (FHFI).  The organizing committee was composed of Angola Consul Helen Ong, Dr. Jimmy Laya, Tess Castro, and Mimi Valerio from SCEI;  Sandie Martinez from IA, Mita Rufino and Chichi Salas from FHFI.  The procession, directed by Mari Hilario with Lito Perez as costume designer, ended with a Mass at San Agustin Church celebrated by Bishop Broderick Pabillo.  A sumptuous dinner and the awarding of certificates of participation followed at the elegant Barbara’s restaurant.
