Ready, get set, run for the environment

-

MANILA, Philippines - They ran, got fit, and helped save the environment.

Some 4,232 participants recently competed in the Ace Hardware and Davies Paint Eco-Friendly Run to help support SM Foundation’s mangrove projects in Nasugbu, Batangas.

Led by sports anchor and frisbee champion Reema Chanco and first Pinoy sole survivor JC Tiuseco, participants in the 3K, 5K and 10K categories went around SM Mall of Asia.

The top three winners in the 3k, 5K, and 10K categories received cash prizes and gift packs, while the fourth to 10th runners-up received gift packs. A special award was given to Deltek Company, with 104 members, the team with the most number of participants.

Raffle prizes — 50 Black and Decker Multi Tool Sets, 40 Top 1 Oil items, 20 pieces of Spyder Mercenary Eyewear, 17 pieces of Spyder Enigma Eyewear, and 3 Dewalt Mountain Bikes — added excitement to the event.

Davies Paint Philippines VP for marketing Albert Gan Lee and marketing director Edison Oribiana awarded the prizes together with Ace Hardware senior AVP for merchandising Mark Chua, assistant division merchandise manager Anthony Dy, and merchandise manager Jayson Tan.
