Fitness is fun at Robinsons
MANILA, Philippines - Since launching its “I Love Wellness†campaign, Robinsons Supermarket has made great strides in promoting healthy brands and a wealth of nutrient-rich and guilt-free items to consumers. To pursue this initiative, it recently held the “Fit & Fun Wellness Buddy Run.“
Among those who participated were Robinsons Supermarket Wellness ambassador Kim Atienza who ran with Bobby Go; singer-actress Karylle whose running partner was 15-year-old Alex Ballester, currently a three-time Iron Kid running champion plus tandems consisting of spouses, children, coaches and colleagues, friends and students.
The champions in the 5K category, who received a trip for two to El Nido, Palawan with three-day/two-night hotel accommodations, were Joma Bongcalis and Melbert Nabua. Team Zodiac’s Arthur Garrida and Ryan Ossorio took home the top honors in the 10K category. They won a trip for two to Bali, Indonesia, inclusive of 3D/2N hotel accommodation.
A special run was held for kids dubbed “Lunchbox of Hope — Kids Fun Run.†It was a joint project of Robinsons Supermarket and Unilever Philippines, in partnership with World Vision Philippines. Special prizes were given to Akira Pascual and Jose Miguel Ochoa (Most Sporty Pair); Andrew John Acuna and Lewis Atzon Cruz (Happy Kid Runners) and Kimy Lloyd and Cholo Luis (Most Friendly Pair). They received exciting gift packs from Toys R’ Us and Unilever Philippines.
RX 93.1 DJs Chico and Gino hosted the after-run program while prizes were presented by Robinsons Retail Group president & COO Robina Gokongwei-Pe; Robinsons Supermarket senior marketing manager Marivi Flores; and assistant marketing services manager for Wellness Angela Tatones.
Event sponsor Unilever also gave out special gift packs to select pairs. Christian Victor Villamora and girlfriend Joy Christine Natividad won the Rexona Won’t Let You down Award while husband-and-wife Sherwin and Daisy Ibanez bagged the Close Up Sweetest Couple Award. A family of four consisting of husband Allan, wife Jo-ann and their two boys, meanwhile, was conferred the Breeze Sige Award.
