And now, a detergent that keeps women happy and the environment safe

-

MANILA, Philippines - For a long time, the name Henkel was associated with the young German merchant who invented the first German, and later, universal detergent based on silicate. But tracing the roots of the 28-year-old Fritz Henkel, leads us to the reason why he invented the self-acting detergent 130 years ago. He wanted to put an end to women’s tedious and time-consuming misery washing clothes the hard way. The success of the first ever German bleaching soda was not only due to Henkel’s skills as a chemist, but more out of his desire to make women’s chores easier.

Today, the Fortune 500 German company Henkel continues to strive to make people’s lives easier, better, and more beautiful to fulfill its corporate claim of “A brand like a friend”.

Laundry and homecare have always played an important role for Henkel. The company’s success story started with a product from this category. For consumers, especially mothers and housewives, in more than 40 countries, Henkel brand names have become an integral part of their daily lives.

In the Philippines, Henkel introduces its high-performing liquid detergent brand Perwoll and fabric conditioner brand Vernel.

If you are looking at the laundry detergent market in the Philippines, the biggest source still comes from the powder segment. It is a P22-billion market with powder capturing some 56 percent of market share, followed by the bar segment.

Raymond Albert G. Antonio, marketing manager, Henkel Philippines’ laundry and home care, says, “There is still a need to educate consumers that liquid is still the best detergent to take care of your clothes, and is more convenient, too.”

Henkel has underscored its commitment to exceptional product performance and the best possible environmental compatibility. Its high-performing Perwoll liquid detergent has the advantage of a mild formulation that protects the clothes from damage even after numerous washings, and uses the German technology that makes its formulation and packaging environment friendly.

Perwoll, the leading liquid detergent in the country today, comes in different variants — classic, black, color, and the recently launched Perwoll Baby. The liquid formulation of all Perwoll variants allows for easier hand-washing and less rinsing, which translates to energy and water savings.

Also validating Henkel’s “A brand like a friend” claim is the fabric conditioner Vernel. It is the only mood-enhancing fabric conditioner that softens clothes with very unique scents characteristics that soothe the consumer’s senses while doing the laundry. As in all Henkel brands, Vernel likewise uses the Henkel environment compatibility formula.
