‘Summer on the street’ is more fun at Bonifacio High Street

Marbbie C. Tagabucba - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – Remember those mini-Eiffel Tower selfies on your social media feed last Valentine’s Day? That’s just a warm-up to the attractions Bonifacio High Street has in store for summer.

Installations of the Leaning Tower of Pisa (at 20 feet high, it’s tall enough for reenacting those leaning selfies that populate the side of the Piazza del Duomo in Italy), France’s Louvre and Singapore’s Merlion adorn key spaces, but if you’re lucky, those selfies could just be a prelude to the real thing.

A minimum spend of P3,000 single or accumulated receipts from any Bonifacio High Street shop or restaurant from April 9 to June 9 gives you a chance to win a flight for two to Singapore, Italy and Paris, plus free Globe data roaming for five days to take and post more selfies, thanks to Globe Telecom and Emirates Airline.

In the event you start to feel warm, find the #BHSSummer food truck and exchange your P1,500 receipts from any Bonifacio High Street shop from April 9 to May 29 and get free ice cream from Mad Marks and other summer treats.

A Guinness World Record Attempt

Last April 10, the Bonifacio High Street Park, in collaboration with All4PetsParty, gathered pets of all kinds and breeds for free vet consultations, pet agility courses, pools, playpens and freebies.

That was just a peek into the bigger gathering underway, The Great Shih Tzu Walk, to be held at the Activity Center corner 9th Avenue on May 7. Hosted by Royal Canin, it will be an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the biggest gathering of same-breed dogs.

Work On Your Hobbies

To enjoy the summer breeze while dining out after a quick run around the park, to be able to walk your pet as you shop in Bonifacio High Street’s wide range of outdoor stores and boutiques, all among a kilometer-long space of lush greens —this was the kind of laidback lifestyle the space was made for.

This summer, it’s about to get more interactive. On April 30, Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf will bring live music from the best talents of BGC Impromptu as it retails trinkets from the BGC Art Mart. There will also be free creative movement workshops and improvisation classes for their Arts x Music x The Coffee Bean festivities. (And yes, there will be free coffee.)

For Mother’s Day, Bonifacio High Street pairs up with Mommy Mundo as it plays host to inspirational talks, onstage activities, and gifts and prizes for the most important woman in our lives on May 8.

Sneaker heads should circle the weekend of May 21 to 22 to avail of promos and discounts from Bonifacio High Street’s shoe retailers and brands like Sole Academy, Adidas and Nike, among others, while enjoying game booths and live music from some of the best DJs.

Also on May 21 to 22, geeks converge at United Geekdom. There will be Lightsaber Demos, Game of Thrones quiz nights, a showcase of collector’s items like Lego and comic books, and meet-and-greets with Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars and Game of Thrones cosplayers.

CameraHaus Photo Festival caps off these festivities on May 28 to 29 with special summer discounts and promos from various camera brands, photo contests and lectures and giveaways that should encourage you to capture more moments, whether as a photographer or a hobbyist, all year round.
