Benito Legarda launches book on Rizal at Solidaridad today

MANILA, Philippines - Eight Rizalian Miniatures by Benito Legarda, Jr. will be launched at Solidaridad Bookshop, 531 Padre Faura St.,Ermita (near Adriatico) today, Dec. 15, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The slim booklet is a collection of eight columns on Rizalian themes that appeared in the Philippine Free Press. It is the author’s modest contribution to our foremost national hero’s sesquicentennial this year. Foreword is by artist and author Alfredo Roces.

The author has previously published four books-on 19th century Philippine trade, the Philippine American War, and two volumes on the Japanese Occupation. All were prize winners or finalists in the Manila Critics Circle Awards.

At the launch the work will be sold at a discount from its normal retail price of P60.

Thereafter it will also be available at Tradewinds, 744 General Luna, Intramuros, third floor Silahis Center, and in Makati at the Filipinas Heritage Library, Nielson Tower, Makati Ave. and the Ayala Museum.
