Levi Celerio's music immortalized in fashion

-

MANILA, Philippines - Freeway goes galactic this season as it features its first National Artist for Music Levi Celerio in its fashionalism series.

Levi Celerio was a famous lyricist who wrote more than 4,000 songs, many of them now immortal. His songs treasure life express, nationalistic sentiments and complete grand philosophies. He is best recognized as a Guinness Book of World Records holder for being the only person able to make music using just a leaf. Celerio was proclaimed National Artist for Music and Literature in 1997.

Since Freeway introduced its National Artist Collectors’ Series in 2009, this innovative brand has continued collaborating with National Artists to fuel the strong commitment of reintroducing the Philippines arts and culture to the younger generation through hip and relevant fashion designs.

The Freeway x Levi Celerio National Artist Collectors’ Series includes beautiful modern tailored dresses, sublimation print graphic tees, woven tops in chiffons and poplins, sexy printed knit mini dresses and accessories printed with words and lyrics from some of the most famous works of Celerio which include Sa Ugoy ng Duyan, Saan Ka Man Naroroon, Ikaw ang Mahal Ko, Ang Daigdig Ko’y Ikaw, Ang Pipit and O Maliwanag na Buwan.

It’s Freeway’s way of honoring Levi Celerio and his rich legacy to Philippine music. The collection is now available in Freeway stores.
