Foxy kids have fun with fashion

MANILA, Philippines - Kids today are so lucky.

Many years ago, choices were limited and children could not really express their style. The Street and Urban collections live up to the more playful side of young boys and girls. Street is inspired by a digital world that conjures futuristic city life images. Graphics include pixel robots and skulls, large-scale images, and geometric shapes using vivid and cheerful colors like blue, red and yellow with fluorescent tints. Here, this is the boy’s street, where his own fashion revolution takes place. Urban uses cute graphics such as rainbows and stars, designed for sporty everyday fashion. Grey, black, and white go well with silver and satin, and bright neon trims in shades of fuchsia, purple, green and yellow, creating a glamorous rock star look for the girls.

Vintage and Romantic bring out the children’s softer side: Vintage for the boys and the very feminine Romantic for the girls. The Vintage collection is inspired by the 19th-century work wear, with images of trucks and tractors, rusty locks and keys, measurement tools, and old newspaper ads. Colors are warm with a faded look — stonewashed denim or worn-out shades of blue, green khaki, rust, and mustard. The Romantic collection is inspired by the girly look of Holly Hobbie’s character. Graphics include all-over prints drawn by hand such as botanic gardens, crafts made in the olden times, and antique girly icons. The colors are light and faded — pastel pink, smoked purple, dirty turquoise, off-white and light green. The garment shapes are comfortable and loose: long woven tunics, flared leg pants, gathered sleeves, cozy loose knitwear using multicolor stripes and braid details. Clothes are also decorated with wooden buttons, leather-like fastenings, and crochet laces.
