Nobu Hotel at City of Dreams Manila
MANILA, Philippines - A star-studded VIP gathering of international celebrities and Manila’s high society celebrated the grand opening of Asia’s first Nobu Hotel at City of Dreams Manila with a glamorous ‘purple carpet’ and gala dinner. A traditional Japanese sake barrel cracking ceremony was presided over by world-renowned chef Nobu Matsuhisa and award-winning actor Robert De Niro, among others.
The star lineup included international hip hop star and record producer Apl de Ap, best known as a member of the Grammy Award-winning group The Black Eyed Peas, who thrilled guests with a stunning dinner-cabaret performance, which also featured his ‘Apl-Gang’ of young Filipino starlets, at a prestigious Nobu-inspired gala dinner enjoyed by government officials, business partners and VIP guests. An international team of Nobu executive chefs specially flown in for the event, including Nobu Hotel Manila’s dedicated team led by corporate executive chef Thomas Buckley prepared the Nobu-inspired menu including signature sashimi, white fish dry miso and black cod nasu miso.
