Stella Rojas at Gallery Nine and Ricco Renzo

Stella Rojas rendered the landscapes from her travels to the French Alps, Provence, Northern Italy and the vineyards of Langhe and Montferrat in “La Vie en Ert” on Nov. 5 at Gallery Nine, fourth floor of SM Megamall A, Mandaluyong City.

Rojas will also mount her 40th solo show “Antre Monde (Another World)” which opens on Nov. 21 at the Ricco Renzo Gallery, ground floor of LRI Design Plaza, 210 N. Garcia St., Bel-Air 2 Makati City. The show runs until Dec. 7.

‘Snapshots from my Journey’ at Metro Gallery

Lydia Velasco, Nunelucio Alvarado, Michael Cacnio, Loreto Racuya, Oscar Salita, Rovi Salegumba, Jovito Andres, Vic Bachoco, Celso Pepito, and Jun Martinez rendered family affairs and values in “Snapshots from My Journey” on view until Nov. 16 at Metro Gallery, 455 P. Guevarra St. in San Juan.

The artworks are also featured in the 2009 calendar of Merial Philippines through the coordination of its country manager Dr. Dan Rodriguez and Metro Gallery owner Irene Cometa.

Pancho Piano in New York

Pancho Piano will present the traditional and abstract renditions of his “Peña­francia” and “Mayon” series in “Luminous Space II,” slated from Nov. 17 to 25 at the Philippine Center in New York City.

The opening will be graced by Consul General Cecille Rebong, DOT director for North America and Canada Emma Ruth Yulo, and Philippine Center Management Board director Gavino Abaya.

Risa Recio at Mag:net High Street

Risa Recio mounts “Apoptosis, it’s fun to say” which opens tomorrow at Mag:net High Street, B3 Bonifacio High Street, 9th Ave., Bonifacio Global City. The show runs until Nov. 29.

The exhibit is set on a two-part series, namely “Rogers Park” and the “5 a.m./p.m.” series. In “Rogers Park,” Recio pays homage to artist Richard Diebenkorn whose works are represented by lines and bright colors expressed through abstraction and into synthesized diverse influences on cubism, Matisse, and New York’s abstract impressionists.

The “5 a.m./p.m.” series, on the other hand, are smaller and attempts to capture raw energy.

Botong Francisco at Yuchengco Museum

Yuchengco Museum presents the portrait of Enrique and Maria Yuchengco by National Artist Carlos “Botong” Francisco on view at the Masters Gallery of the museum, RCBC Plaza corner Ayala and Sen. Gil. Puyat Avenues, Makati City.

Commissioned in 1953, the towering portrait of Alfonso Yuchengco’s parents hung at the family mausoleum before it was heavily restored and moved to the museum in 2005.
