MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) is monitoring two low-pressure areas (LPA) that are seen to bring rain over parts of the country.

PAGASA said the first LPA was monitored in the vicinity of Homonhon Island in Eastern Samar while the other weather system was seen 330 kms west of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan as of 3 p.m.

The shear line is also affecting parts of the eastern section of Southern Luzon and the Visayas.

The two LPAs and shear line will bring scattered rainshowers over Surigao del Norte, Dinagat Islands, Eastern Visayas, Bicol Region, Quezon and Kalayaan Islands.

Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon will bring cloudy skies with rains over Apayao, Cagayan Valley and Aurora.

The monsoon will also bring light rains over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

The rest of the country may see isolated rainshowers due to the LPA and localized thunderstorms.

PAGASA warned of possible flash floods and landslides during at times heavy rains.
