Maja Salvador returns to TV5’s ‘Emojination’

MANILA, Philippines — Maja Salvador was glowing, blooming and beaming with glee as she talked about motherhood and her current and future showbiz projects in a presscon. She just returned to the showbiz scene via TV5’s “Emojination,” now on its fifth season, as host, alongside Chad Kinis and Chamy Aguedan. The game show premieres May 17 5:30 p.m. on TV5 with same-day catch-up at 8 p.m. on BuKo Channel.
The actress and host expressed her enthusiasm in returning to work after she gave birth to her daughter, Maria, last year in Canada.
“I’m super excited when I came back to the Philippines. I set up a meeting right away with my APT and TV5 family,” shared Maja. “They asked me if I’m ready to work. Of course, I requested for a short break para medyo tanggal manas. Haha! It’s my comeback so I want to be fresh.”
Aside from “Emojination,” she will soon star in a film and a series but no details were given yet.
To get back in shape, Maja did workout and diet.

“But for ‘Emojination,’ there’s not much preparation that’s why I accepted it first,” she told The STAR. She requested the game show to be the first among her list of projects because of its studio setting. “So it’s easy. I could bring Maria (on set). And it’s Season 5 so it’s like a dance, (it’s part of your) muscle memory, you know it already.”
As a first-time mom, Maja said that she always considers her baby when making life and career decisions now.
“As a new mom, I have a lot of restrictions now. Like parang tulad ba ako na dati na talagang every day taping, iipunin ba natin? Things like that so there’s a lot to consider.”
“It’s tiring but masarap na pagod. Sulit, worth it,” Maja further described her motherhood journey. She and her husband, Rambo, are hands-on parents to Maria.
“Nag-dry na yung milk ko (breastfeed) when I went on a diet, went back to workouts and dancing. But I’m happy na inabot ako ng eight months (of breastfeeding),” she shared.
She also expressed that she is open to take on mother roles in acting projects. “I had mother roles before but I didn’t experience how to be a mom. But now that I’m a mom, I have more emotions na mas ready ilabas or ipakita.”
For now, she is not keen on exposing Maria in showbiz but will “give her freedom on what she wants to do” when the time comes. “That’s why I don’t post about her (on social media).”
Is she ready for baby No. 2? “Not yet,” she replied and jokingly added, “We just launched Season 5 (of ‘Emojination’). Paabutin natin ng Season 10!”
Maja wants to bond more with her daughter now that she is turning one. “She can already express what she wants. It’s different. I love her more every day. Ang sarap sarap.”
Meanwhile, TV5 president and CEO Guido Zaballero remarked how Maja’s return to the show has been anticipated by many. “Maja has always had a special place in the hearts of our Kapatid audience, and her energy lights up every show she’s in. Her return to ‘Emojination’ has been eagerly awaited, and we’re all excited to see her bring even more fun and unforgettable moments to the TV screens.”
“Our production team has worked tirelessly to ensure that season 5 brings something new and exciting to the table. We’ve put in the effort to create unforgettable moments that will truly make this season stand out,” president and CEO of APT Entertainment Michael Tuviera stressed.
Cignal’s first vice president and head of channels and content management Sienna Olaso likewise shared her excitement, saying, “’Emojination’s format truly stands out. It’s not just fun, it’s an experience filled with entertainment, laughter, and surprises — and we’re grateful that our viewers continue to enjoy and support it.”
