MANILA, Philippines — Dingdong Dantes recently represented his shows, “Family Feud” and “Amazing Earth,” when GMA Entertainment Group launched its campaign, “Basta’t Sama-Sama… Best Time Ever.”

His weekday game show and weekend infotainment program are two of the well-loved shows by Kapuso viewers. Both are doing well in the ratings’ game.

The campaign “encourages viewers to indulge in their favorite comfort shows together with their families and friends,” according to the information given to this paper.

“Bubble Gang,” “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” “I-Bilib,” “Pepito Manaloto,” and “The Boobay and Tekla Show” are the other programs featured in the campaign.

Dingdong Dantes engages studio players in a series of survey questions and presents information on destinations and nature to audiences in ‘Family Feud’ and ‘Amazing Earth,’ respectively. He enjoys every bit of being a game master and an infotainment show host. The past year has also seen him star in two Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entries, ‘Rewind’ and ‘Firefly.’

As much as viewers have fun watching “Family Feud” and “Amazing Earth,” Dingdong also enjoys asking informal survey questions to studio players and presenting “breathtaking destinations” and information on “nature, animals, and local heroes” to viewers.

“One of the places that we want to go to is Iceland,” said Dingdong about some destinations he and his “Amazing Earth” team would like to feature in future episodes during a recent press conference, “and of course, hindi mawawala yung Palawan (Palawan will always be on our list). Love na love naming pumunta at bumalik dyan sa Palawan (we love to visit it again). We hope to come back there very, very soon.”

As for hosting “Family Feud,” he shared, “When you perform or play a role, you find it therapeutic. But it’s the same thing with ‘Family Feud’ because it gives you a different energy.

“So, even if you’re thinking about something, once you step on to the stage, all of it goes away because you meet eight new people every day, and you learn a lot from them and you enjoy yourself, and that’s the most important thing.”

This is one of the many things he likes about being a game master for “Family Feud,” as Dingdong expressed in a past virtual press conference.

“It’s not always the same each day,” he shared. “So, imagine that I’m meeting eight individuals every episode. So, ganun katindi yung possibilities, ang daming possibilities (of having different studio players, that’s why my approach is not) one size fits all. It’s a new experience every episode with eight interesting individuals.”

“Amazing Earth,” on the other hand, gives him unique experiences such as being the “first viewer” before the audience gets to watch the episodes since Dingdong gets to read the story and process the information first, as he said in another previous group interview.

“I’m amazed every week and every time I do voice-over. There’s always something new that I can (pick up and) add to what I already know.”

Dingdong has been doing “Family Feud” and “Amazing Earth” for the past five and two years, respectively. He has fun being a game master and an infotainment host.

Aside from hosting, Dingdong has done movies like the 2023 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) films, “Rewind,” with wife Marian Rivera, and “Firefly,” as well as drama anthology, TV series and sitcom, “I Can See You: AlterNate,” “Royal Blood” and “Jose & Maria’s Bonggang Villa.”

“Definitely, now is the best time ever because we’re all together,” said Dingdong of the campaign, also referring to fellow stars who lend their talents to GMA viewers’ favorite shows. Present during the event were Angel Satsumi, Arthur Solinap, Betong Sumaya, Buboy Villar, Chariz Solomon, Cheska Fausto, EA Guzman, Jake Vargas, Kokoy de Santos, Matt Lozano, Mikael Daez, and Paolo Contis.

“When you say ‘Best Time Ever,’ malaking bagay na hindi ka lang mag-isa dahil sama-sama kayo (it’s a big deal because you’re not alone, you’re all together).”

So, televiewers will not only follow one but an array of fun Kapuso shows that give them the best time they deserve.

Again, Dingdong was simply glad to represent his two shows, which are entertaining and informative.

"Family Feud" airs from Mondays to Fridays at 5:35 p.m., while "Amazing Earth" is on Friday nights at 9:35.
