MANILA, Philippines — On-leave Kapamilya actor John Lloyd Cruz attended on Monday the preliminary investigation for the cases against his girlfriend Ellen Adarna filed by the parents of the alleged paparazzi she posted months ago on her Instagram account.

Ellen failed to attend once again, but her boyfriend showed up with her counsel at the Pasig City Prosecutor's Office to face the child abuse and cybercrime cases filed by Myra and Roel Santos, the parents of the 17-year-old that Ellen called a “paparazzi.”

ABS-CBN showbiz reporter MJ Felipe posted on his Twitter account a video of John Lloyd with Ellen’s legal counsel attending the investigation.

“LOOK: John Lloyd Cruz attends the preliminary investigation hearing of Ellen Adarna’s child abuse & cyber crime case filed here at the Pasig City Office of the Prosecutor. Ellen not here but John Lloyd is accompanied by Ellen’s legal counsel. The complaining party also here,” MJ captioned his video.

The showbiz reporter added that the hearing only last less than 30 minutes and has been rescheduled on June 25.

“The preliminary investigation hearing today last for less than thirty minutes and has been rescheduled again, two weeks from now June 25 as requested by respondent’s camp,” MJ tweeted.

Last week, Ellen failed to attend the first hearing, leaving the complainants to wait for hours. Reports said her father passed away due to cardiac arrest.

Ellen is facing a violation of RA 7610 or Anti-Child Abuse Law and RA 10175 or Anti-Cybercrime Law.
