Parisii String Quartet at SM IMAX

MANILA, Philippines - Mall goers will have the opportunity to watch the award-winning Parisii String Quartet (photo) from France to perform live in a concert on June 10, 8 p.m. at the IMAX Theater, fourth level, SM Aura Premier.

A joint project of the Alliance Francaise de Manille (AFM), SM Lifestyle and Entertainment, Inc. and IMAX Theater, with the support of the Embassy of France and SM Aura Premier, this is the classical group’s first performance in Manila.

Founded in 1983 by four applauded graduates of the Consevatoire National Superieur de Paris, the Parissi String Quartet won early praise with its victories at three significant international competitions in Banff (1986), Munic (1987) and Evian (1987).

Invitations followed from the important concert halls and festivals all over the world, and the Parisii has since toured consistently throughout Europe, the US, East Asia, South America, as well as Africa. Much in-demand in Paris, the Parisii performed the entire Haydn cycle at the Opera Bastille, performed the Beethoven cycle at the Salle Gaveau and has appeared regularly at the Musee d’Orsay.

The quartet is composed of Doriane Gable (second violin), Dominique Lobet (viola), Arnaud Vallin (first violin) and Jean-Philippe Martignoni (cello).

Tickets prices are P500 (orchestra seats) and P400 (balcony seats) — 20 percent for AFM students and members, Embassies and cultural institutions, as well as groups of at least 20 persons.
