Aliwan Fiesta photo tilt on

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Calling all photography enthusiasts! Win big prizes in cash for the best photographs taken at this year’s Aliwan Fiesta.

The photography competition, launched by Manila Broadcasting Company, is open to both amateur and professional photographers, using digital or film-based cameras and camfones or tablets. Photos must be taken during the grand parade tomorrow, April 26, and should not have won nor have been published in any book or photography magazine.

Those using digital or film-based cameras must print their entries full color on any brand of photo paper in 8R size. The name of the photographer should not appear on the face of the entry. Contestants are allowed a maximum of three entries each, but must depict different contingents. These should be submitted to the MBC office, Sotto St., CCP Complex, Pasay City together with a self-addressed stamped brown envelope, together with an Aliwan Fiesta photo competition entry form in triplicate.

Photographic entries taken using any brand of mobile phone or tablet should be uploaded to the official Aliwan Fiesta Facebook page, along with details of the photographer’s name and e-mail address. The photograph may either be a “selfie” or “barkada” shot taken with a contingent or float, but still capturing the fun and excitement of Aliwan Fiesta.

Deadline for submission of digital/film-based entries is on May 2 at 3 p.m. For the camfone/tablet category, the photo with the most number of likes registered on the Facebook page by May 4 wins. Complete details and registration form are downloadable from the official website at www.aliwanfiesta.com.ph.

This year, the parade tomorrow will kick off at 4 p.m. at Quirino Grandstand, en route to the Aliw Theater at the CCP complex, where the culminating showdown and awarding ceremonies will be held. Now on its 12th year, Aliwan Fiesta is supported by National Parks Development Committee, Tanduay Rhum, Coca-Cola, Pride, Unique Toothpaste, Dazz, Alaska Milk, Columbia International Foods, M. Lhuillier, Cherry Mobile, Republic Chemicals, Fukuda, 7-11, 2Go and Columbia Digital.
