Marian leads Kapuso stars at 2013 Peñafrancia fest

MANILA, Philippines - As the whole of Bicolandia along with thousands of devotees and tourists honor Our Lady of Peñafrancia, GMA participates in this year’s celebration of the Peñafrancia Festival as Marian Rivera, Kris Bernal and Aljur Abrenica visit the Pilgrim City of Naga.

Tomorrow, Sept. 22, Naga gets a treat from Marian together withMy Husband’s Lover’s Bettina Carlos and TV host-comedian Boobay. A Kapuso Fans’Day with Marian takes place in Plaza Quezon, Naga City at 6 p.m.

The network’s participation kicked off last Thursday when the cast of GMA’s newest inspirational dramaseries Prinsesa ng Buhay Ko topbilled by Kris and Aljur joined the festival’s civic parade. Both were aboard the Kapuso float with co-stars LJ Reyes, Lian Paz and Renz Fernandez. Their float cruised from the Panganiban Drive to Plaza Quezon.

Next stop for the Prinsesa ng Buhay Kocast was a Kapuso Barangayan hosted by Day Off’s Mike “Pekto” Nacua. Fans from Pili, Camarines Sur got the chance to see Kris, Aljur, LJ, Lian and Renz in person at the Pili Sports Complex.

GMA Bicol’s News and Public Affairs also offered live coverage of various activities throughout the festival. Last Thursday, the Peñafrancia Festival Civic Parade Special Flash Bulletin aired from 8:25 a.m. to 10 a.m. The next day, Friday, the Peñafrancia Festival Military Parade Special Flash Bulletin aired on the same time slot. While yesterday, Saturday,An Divocion Ki Ina(Devotion to Our Mother), GMA Bicol’s special live coverage of the fluvial procession along the Naga River, aired from 4:45 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

A full feature of GMA’s participation in the festival will be seen in Let’s Fiesta TV Special which airs on Oct. 6 via the network’s regional stations in Bicol, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Dagupan, Ilocos, GenSan, Bacolod and CDO.
