Sexy Talk with Martin del Rosario

In the six years that he has been in showbiz, Martin del Rosario considers 2012 as the most productive, his busiest.

“The year was kicked off by the ABS-CBN soap Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin which began end of the previous year and ended in February this year,” said Martin whose face lights up the BNY billboards as endorser. “I’ve been working non-stop since then. Minsan was followed by E-Boy where I appeared for only one week but my role was markado so I consider it a big break.”

So far, Martin has done five movies, the last one having been The Healing, the Vilma Santos starrer directed by Chito Roño, and including the indie Dagim (about cannibals) for which he won an acting award. He’s “daring” enough to go off-beat, such as playing a gay character in one of his three appearances on Charo Santos-Concio’s Maalaala Mo Kaya (MMK). Tonight, Martin returns to MMK (on ABS-CBN after Wansapanataym) in another tear-jerking performance as a young man who bravely faces all odds, including being maltreated by his family, just to achieve his goal of finishing his studies.

“His eyes are very expressive, that’s what caught my attention,” said talent scout Jun Reyes (also the discoverer of Gerald Anderson) who spotted Martin emerging from Lourdes High School (Quezon City) where Martin was a sophomore. “I stopped the cab I was riding and asked Martin, ‘Bagets, gusto mo mag-artista?’ Then I gave him my calling card.”

Martin’s father, Robert del Rosario, used to do bit roles at D’Wonder Films (owned by the family of Niño Muhlach) in the early ’70s along with his brother Joey (who died of a stroke a few years ago). Now a landscape artist, Robert is the older brother of Connie Sison. Martin’s mom, Tet Manggay, is the younger sister of actress Ces Quesada from whom Martin gets valuable pointers.

In this year’s survey, Cosmo magazine named Martin one of the 69 hot bachelors.

What is sexy to you?

“I know it when I see it. ‘Yung malakas ang appeal.”

When do you feel sexy?

“As soon as I wake up in the morning. That’s when all that I’ve eaten the day before are all gone and I feel so light.”

What part of your body do you find sexiest?

“My eyes. They speak volumes.”

What part of a woman’s body do you find sexiest?

“Her butt.”

When did you lose your innocence?

“I don’t remember. That was a long time ago, hehehehe!”

To an older woman, younger woman or a woman your age?

“A girl as young as I was. Oh yes, I remember. I was 15 then.”

Sexiest book?

“Hmmmm, I’m not a book reader, sorry!”

Sexiest magazine?

“FHM.”                          

Sexiest musical instrument?

“Guitar. I really want to know how to play it.”

Sexiest song?

“Madness by Muse.”

Sexiest TV show?

“Of course, Pintada, my show on ABS-CBN (with Denise Laurel). I was a bit shocked when it was offered to me because it’s my first time to be sexy. Before that, palaging wholesome ang roles ko. In Pintada, I’m topless in most of my scenes.”

Sexiest food?
