Cabuyao celebrates cityhood

MANILA, Philippines - In line with the celebration of the cityhood of Cabuyao, Laguna, Mayor Isidro Hemedes Jr. opens the second half of the year with a special festivity today at the Cabuyao Town Plaza.

The event will celebrate the milestones and achievements of Cabuyao in a special star-studded variety show to be directed by director-general of the Film Academy of the Philippines (FAP) Leo Martinez. The show is hosted by Allan K and Candy Pangilinan, who also wrote the event’s script.

Cabuyao can look forward to an unforgettable evening of fireworks, songs and dances with special live performances from Jed Madela of ASAP 2012 and Rachelle Ann Go of Party Pilipinas; Vhong Navarro of It’s Showtime and The Streetboys; Khalil Ramos of Pilipinas Got Talent; and Kathryn Bernardo of Princess & I; Richard Yap and Jodi Sta. Maria of Please Be Careful With My Heart; and Coco Martin, John Medina and Julia Montes of Walang Hanggan.

The show will also feature special video greetings from Gary Valenciano, Martin Nievera, Jericho Rosales, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Ogie Alcasid, Sam Concepcion, Quest, Paolo Valenciano and Gabriel Valenciano. Sound Check will provide technical support.

It should be noted that Cabuyao is the birthplace of award-winning composer Vehnee Saturno, international model Charo Ronquillo, and a home to international singing sensation Charice Pempengco. We are happy and excited to celebrate our cityhood,” says Mayor Hemedes.
