Manila Hotel holds charity concert

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Manila Hotel together with the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music String Ensemble, presented a benefit concert last July 19 for the kids of Sun for All Children and for the charities of Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

The concert, dubbed as La Musique du Coeur or Music from the Heart, showcased the talents of the students from UST with Manila Hotel as the grand setting for this worthy cause. The repertoire for the night included classical pieces by Mozart, Bach, Handel, Vivaldi and Rusticana. Guests were also entertained with the theme song from the classic movie Love Story arranged by Carl James Casten and Sana’y Maghintay ang Walang Hanggan by Willie Cruz. The event was hosted by Johnny Revilla.

“With this event, the Manila Hotel has successfully fostered its strong connection to the less fortunate members of our community. The benefit concert is part of our continuous effort in strengthening our corporate social responsibility and at the same time inspiring our guests to be part of this advocacy,” says Manila Hotel AVP for PR and Corporate Communications Nian Liwanag-Rigor.

The funds raised from the pledges were used to buy goods such as food, toiletries and other basic necessities and were distributed to the children of the chosen charities at the DSWD District V office in Paco, Manila.
