A week in my life

MANILA, Philippines — As a student-athlete, my life can get pretty hectic. I’m always on the go, never in a single place for a very long time – from games, to school, to training, to new places with friends, and to home. That’s why I choose to Uber! It comes in handy for me all the time, helping me get to where I need to be hassle- and worry-free. I’ve been using the app for more or less three years now, just about the time I started college. Although I often drive my car, there are many days when booking an Uber is just more convenient, like when my car is number-coded or when I think parking might be difficult. Here’s a peek into my life:

Day 1: March 21

Today was game day! I know this happens to a lot of people, but before stepping onto the court, I need to focus. I get my head in the game and think about how I want to play. I usually take an Uber to my games so I can just concentrate on getting into the right mindset. My friends sometimes hitch with me so I booked an uberXL, which can typically fit six people although there were only four of us.

Day 2: March 22

After a tiring game yesterday, I decided to take an Uber again because I was too exhausted to drive. So exhausted that I forgot that my car was also on number-coding! On my way to school, my Uber driver asked if I knew that Uber offered student discounts. I was shocked to find out, because I had been taking Ubers for years, but hadn’t heard of it! It’s something that students like me should definitely avail of – it’ll be such a big help for our wallets!

I had a long day at school, full of classes and group projects in between. I was heading home pretty late. When I Uber late at night, I share my trip status with my parents.

Day 3: March 23

On days when I think I’m going to wake up late, I schedule my trip ahead of time. This always saves the day and helps me get to my first class on time!

Right after school, I had to speed off to my PT session, but I completely forgot my muscle tape at home! I used the multi-destination feature. I could pass by the house to get it, before heading off to my final destination – the clinic. I’m proud to say that I made it to my appointment on time!
