Samsung introduces new monochrome laser printer

-

MANILA, Philippines - Samsung Electronics Philippines Corp. (SEPCO) recently announced the launch of a new monochrome laser printer - the ML-1660.

The ML-1660 offers users an intuitive printing experience by incorporating a number of easy-to-use, one-touch features into the product’s design. Being compact in size, it is ideal for personal, home office and small office users.

“Samsung understands that consumers don’t want to have to worry about working out how to use their new devices,” said Ed Kasunuran, SEPCO’s printer product manager for IT solution business.

“With the new printers, we have incorporated a wide range of features in a stylish and compact device to make printing simple and convenient,” he said.

Technological advances in multi-function printing have meant that printers are smarter and more feature-rich than ever before but this means they often have a bewildering number of buttons, dials and controls to negotiate.

Recognizing this, Samsung has introduced a number of easy-to-use, one-touch features to the new ML-1660. The Samsung Print Screen button provides consumers with a quick and easy way to print exactly what they see on their PC screen at the touch of a button.

The printer is also compatible with Samsung’s AnyWeb Print software. This allows users to select, drag and drop specific content from webpages into a new blank page on their PC screen, which they can then save or print.

The AnyWeb Print software allows users to print just the information they really need, rather than printing several whole webpages. This means users are not wasting time or resources such as paper and toner.

Rather than hiding the on/off switch at the back of the printer, Samsung’s new Soft Power button is located on the front panel of the devices, making it simpler to turn them on and off.

The ML-1660 advanced intuitive features are seamlessly integrated into the devices’ design. Ideal for the smallest of working environments, the new printers are even more compact than previous Samsung models, making them the smallest on the market.

They also feature a streamlined design and a stylish, glossy, chic black finish. A cover on the output tray contributes to the streamlined look and helps keep the noise level down, avoiding unnecessary distraction in the home or work office.

With print speeds of up to 16 pages-per-minute (ppm) and a first page out time of less than 8.5 seconds, the ML-1660 offers a high-quality and robust printer for personal users with regular printing needs, such as professionals and students.

Making it easy to switch the printers on and off encourages consumers to turn them off when they aren’t being used, rather than leaving them in sleep mode. This can help avoid unnecessary energy consumption, saving as much as 9.55 watts per hour. Over a year, this equates to the same amount of energy as leaving a light on for over 18 days.

In addition, the ML-1660 is dispatched with minimal packaging to reduce the impact of the devices on the environment.

The black toner cartridges that supply these printers deliver a 1,500-page yield and provide the same high standard of quality and reliability to be expected from Samsung original printing supplies.
