Cathay builds Golf City

-

Upscale property developer Cathay Land, Inc. has earmarked P12.5 billion in investments to develop its 500-hectare flagship project, South Forbes Golf City, envisioned to be a fully-integrated and all-themed golf resort city. To date, Cathay Land has launched seven residential subdivisions and two condominium cluster projects totaling to P7.5 billion.

“South Forbes’ prime location is at the forefront of the booming Metro Sta. Rosa – Tagaytay corridor. We are confident more than ever to keep on producing more innovative and compelling projects as we continuously expand our stronghold in the South,” said Jeffrey Ng, Cathay Land president.

For 2007 alone, South Forbes has launched the P1-billion 30-hectare Nirwana Bali residential and commercial development, the P1.25-billion five-building Golf View Terraces, and the P500-million twin tower Scandia Suites.

South Forbes launched recently the tropical lifestyle-inspired Miami covering 18 hectares in its diversely-themed residential cluster. This new subdivision is projected to cost around P1.25 billion.

“This American-themed village is top of the line for the district, so we are offering bigger lots with model homes of varied sizes,” Ng said. Miami offers four model homes all named after key places in the Sunshine State like Daytona, Pensacola, Kissimmee, and Sarasota. Lots in Miami range from 300-500 square meters.

Mr. Ng related that this and future projects will be funded from pre-selling activities and internally-generated cash.

Cathay Land has been recently acclaimed by the world’s most presitigious property industry awards programme, the CNBC International Property Awards, for South Forbes Golf City as Best Golf Development, in recognition of the creation of its 5 Clusters of Excellence. Cathay Land is the first and only Philippine developer to have received this highly sought after citation.

South Forbes is first in the country to offer to all its lot or condominium unit owners free golf membership at no activation cost. Earlier, Cathay Land announced the near-completion of its P1.25 billion 50-hectare golf course.

“The 18-hole South Forbes Golf Club will fully open first quarter of 2008, the fastest to be constructed in the country after groundbreaking in June 2006. The driving range and golf academy will open soon thereafter.” Ng said.

South Forbes’ affiliation with the International Management Group Sports Club gives its residents access to other golf courses worldwide, including the Laguna Phuket Golf Club in Thailand, Moonah Links in Melbourne, and the prestigious Presidio Golf Course in San Francisco.
