DENR accredits environmental laboratories

Nine laboratories were accredited by the Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), bringing to 40 the total number of DENR-recognized environmental laboratories across the country.
The awarding of certificates to the environmental laboratories included recognition-renewals for two laboratories namely, Chemrock Laboratories in Lapu-Lapu in Cebu, and, Pilipinas Kao, Inc. in Jasaan, Misamis Oriental. The new DENR-recognized laboratories include the Robinsons Land Corp. laboratory in Manila and the Technical Experts on Environmental Management Inc., laboratory (TEEM laboratory) in Parañaque City, and MACH (Union) water laboratory in Las Piñas City.
Outside Metro Manila, the new DENR-recognized environmental laboratories are the Cavite water and wastewater testing laboratory and Jefcro Laboratories, Inc. in Cavite; F.A.S.T. Laboratories in Batangas; and Ostrea Mineral Laboratories Inc. in Cebu.
Aside from the nine environmental laboratories, eight others also received addendum to their respective certificates of recognition for expanding their analytical services to include new parameters. These laboratories include the Lipa Quality Control in Batangas, Interek Testing Services Philippines include the Lipa Quality Control in Batangas, Interek Testing Services Philippines, Inc. Labtest in Makati City, the URC Central Wastewater Laboratory in Pasig City, Ostrea Mineral Laboratories in Laguna, the Environmental Laboratory Division, Aeronics Incorporated in Quezon City, the CRL Environmental Corporation in Pampanga, EMD/EP & C Laboratory Analytical Services in Taguig City, and the Organo Philippines Laboratory in Laguna.
Amendment to the certificate of recognition given last 2003 was also given to the following: in National Capitol Region Intertek Testing Services Philippines, Inc. Labtest; Adamson University Technology Research and Development Center; Aeronics, Inc.; and ELARSI, Inc.; in Region 4 Organo Philippines, Inc.; and Region 7 Technolab Laboratory Services.
