Feb. 4 price adjustments: Gasoline climbs, diesel, kerosene fall

MANILA, Philippines — After last week’s rollback, gasoline prices are set to increase this week, while diesel and kerosene prices will see further declines.

Starting Tuesday, February 4, oil firms will raise gasoline prices by P0.70 per liter, while kerosene will drop by P0.90 per liter and diesel by P1.15 per liter.

Shell Pilipinas, CleanFuel, Seaoil, Caltex and PetroGazz announced the adjustments in separate advisories on Monday, February 3.

This marks the second consecutive week of price cuts for diesel and kerosene, which the Department of Energy (DOE) attributed to increased crude oil production projections amid the United States’ pro-drilling policies.

On January 28, oil firms rolled back prices by P0.80 per liter for gasoline, P0.20 per liter for diesel, and P0.50 per liter for kerosene, following a sharp increase of P2 to P3 per liter in the third week of 2025. 

Supply concerns drove the hefty hike after the US imposed sanctions on Russia’s energy sector.

In Metro Manila, the prevailing retail prices per liter of petroleum products from January 28 to February 3 were:

• Gasoline (RON97/100) - P72.43
• Gasoline (RON95) - P70.10
• Gasoline (RON91) - P60.95
• Diesel - P58.95
• Diesel Plus - P72.10
• Kersone - P74.77

With this week’s adjustments, the total net increase for 2025 stands at P3.35 per liter for gasoline, P3.65 per liter for diesel and P2.90 per liter for kerosene.
