AXA Philippines launches REIT fund

MANILA, Philippines — AXA Philippines has launched the AXA Global REIT and Property Income Fund amid the increasing demand for real estate investment trusts (REITs).

The AXA Global REIT and Property Income Fund can be availed via Asset Master, AXA’s unit-linked insurance plan.

AXA Philippines chief market officer Nandy Villar said the fund gives customers access to prime global real estate investments which is a good way to diversify one’s portfolio.

“Similar to actual real estate investment, the fund gives monthly payouts while providing potential gains in capital appreciation according to market conditions.  And because the fund is linked to an insurance product, one has guaranteed life insurance coverage for as long as he or she maintains the policy,” Villar said.

The fund is targeting high net worth investors to strategically increase their wealth by betting on prime global real estate investments while letting them enjoy monthly cash payouts of up to five percent per annum.

The AXA Global REIT and Property Income Fund also taps into diverse global real estate sectors.

The sector includes residential, hotel and resorts, retail, and other real estate sub-sectors including  communication infrastructure, data centers, industrial, and healthcare spaces.

Additionally, investors are also guaranteed at least 125 percent life insurance coverage.

Dexter Agcaoili, product category head for unit-linked funds, gives further emphasis on the benefits of the Global REIT and Property Income Fund.

He said investing in REITs is a smart move for investors looking to generate passive income without the burdens of direct ownership.
