MANILA, Philippines — Mister Donut Philippines is opening its doors to more Filipino micro-entrepreneurs in this time of pandemic with the rollout of its Mister Donut On Wheels in trike format.

For a minimal investment of P185,000, Filipinos can now operate their own Mister Donut franchise and reap the benefits of being part of a strong global brand that continues to innovate to make sure its franchisees are optimizing their business.

Cherryl Carino, franchise management head at Mister Donut Philippines, said the P185,000 investment would even be lower if the interested franchisee already has an existing motorcycle that fits the trike specifications.

“This year, Mister Donut introduced a micro-franchise format to the market through the MD on Wheels Tryke. As the entire nation bounces back, Mister Donut aims to help those who would like to start a business but with a limited budget,” Carino said. The Mister Donut On Wheels Tryke is ideal for semi-urban and rural areas and recommended for entrepreneurs who have not secured locations yet.

“In these times when the best location is near communities, and the best strategy is selling near where your customers live, the MD Tryke is a good option to consider. Cost of investment is also ideal for those who are choosing business venture options based on a budget,” Carino noted.

The MD Tryke can also be used to complement other franchise formats of Mister Donuts, basically to allow franchisees to serve their surrounding communities better. A regular franchise package starts at P310,000 for a four-square meter kiosk and is ideal for entrepreneurs whose proposed locations are in prime areas.

A Business Trial Package, meanwhile, is being offered at a start-up investment of P100,000, with half of the amount refundable in case the site chosen by the franchisee did not meet the profitability metrics set by the company over a period of three to six months.

“Mister Donut has been one of the strongest players in the franchising industry here in the Philippines. The first franchised store that opened in 1983 is still operational, along with the many Mister Donut stores that opened in the 80s, 90s and beyond. We encourage interested entrepreneurs to email us at [email protected] to inquire and to get the complete requirements,” Carino said.
