Manila Water bags Isabela contract

MANILA, Philippines — Ayala-led Manila Water Co. bagged the contract to provide bulk water supply and wastewater services in Ilagan City in Isabela.

In a regulatory filing yesterday, the water utility said it received the notice of award from the City of Ilagan Water District (CIWD) for the implementation of an integrated water supply and sanitation project under a joint venture.

The bulk water component of the project has an estimated capital expenditure of P600 million, while the septage management component costs P200 million.

The contract covers the development, financing, and operation of a raw water source, provision of bulk water supply with system expansion and the development of septage management in Ilagan.

The bulk water facilities are expected to supply up to 30 million liters per day  when completed by 2020.

Manila Water and its subsidiary Manila Water Philippine Ventures Inc. will enter into a joint venture agreement with CIWD to establish a joint venture corporation that will implement the project.

The company covers the east zone which encompasses parts of Makati, Mandaluyong, Pasig, Pateros, San Juan, Taguig, Marikina, most parts of Quezon City, portions of Manila, as well as several towns in Rizal.

Manila Water operates three other subsidiaries –Laguna AAA Water Corp., Boracay Island Water Corp. and Clark Water Corp.
