MANILA, Philippines - Paxys Inc., a publicly-listed holding company that focuses on investments in the business process outsourcing (BPO) industry, has sold its wholly-owned call center unit Advanced Contact Solutions Inc. (ACS) for a still undisclosed price.
In a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange, Paxys said it sold ACS to Alorica International Ltd., a subsidiary of outsourced customer contact management services firm Alorica Inc.
ACS, a leading player in the BPO sector, has four call center sites and over 6,000 seats, serving top companies in the US, United Kingdom, Australia and Canada.
Currently, ACS’ net worth accounts for 17 percent of Paxys’ consolidated networth.
Paxys said it would continue to hold investments in the BPO industry despite the sale of ACS.
Proceeds from the sale would be used for future investment activities to repay the group’s indebtedness and/for general corporate purposes, Paxys said.
ACS has extensive variety of businesses in telecommunications, airline/travel, satellite TV, financial services and health care.
Alorica Philippines, on the other hand, is one of the progressing call centers in Pasig .
