Western Union named top employer by SSS

-

MANILA, Philippines - Western Union’s Asia Regional Operations Center (AROC) has been recognized by the Social Security System (SSS) as the 2010 Top Employer in the NCR Central region in the medium-sized employer category of the SSS Balikat ng Bayan Awards.

The Asia Regional Operations Center is one of four Western Union global Centers of Excellence.

The Top Employer Award recognizes Western Union AROC for constantly upholding the welfare and protection of their employees through compliance with the social security law obligations on contributions reporting, proper implementation of company protocols, accurate and timely submission of reports and active participation in SSS’ programs.

Over 800,000 employers from the private sector are registered with the SSS. This year, 24 organizations all over the Philippines were evaluated and selected as part of the annual SSS Balikat ng Bayan Awards program for Top Employers.

The awards were presented by SSS chairman Juan B. Santos, and SSS president and CEO Emil S. de Quiros Jr. last Sept. 1 in a ceremony forming part of its 53rd anniversary celebrations.

“At Western Union, we believe in taking good care of our employees, who in turn provide excellent service to our customers, which then generates returns for the company. It’s a simple idea that reaps rewards not just in our business results, but also in employee recruitment and retention,” Drina Yue, managing director and senior vice president, Asia Pacific, Western Union, said.
