Jason Wu enters camera design

- Liane D. Reyes -

MANILA, Philippines - At the age of 27, Jason Wu is at the top of the world. The talented young designer took his place in the limelight when US First Lady Michelle Obama wore his iconic gown to her husband’s inauguration. From then on, his creations were sought as his list of avid admirers grew to include stylish celebrities like Diane Kruger and Drew Barrymore. His talent for innovation and craftsmanship is said to reflect today’s modern lifestyle with all the classic detailing of haute couture.

This month, Wu adds yet another design first to his rapidly growing portfolio as he collaborates with GE to develop a new line of cameras for the style-conscious consumer. General Imaging, an exclusive licensee of GE digital cameras, came up with a new point-and-shoot camera that’s as stylish as it is functional.

“As a highly visual person, I love taking pictures of the many beautiful things I encounter in my everyday life which then often influence my designs, “ says Wu. “It seemed natural to partner with GE on a camera that represents my style and passion for photography.”

Simply called Create by Jason Wu, the camera utilizes GE’s cutting edge technical expertise to feature the latest technology to make taking great pictures easy. Functionality and technology present in the cameras intuitive and easy-to-use body are combined with fashion forward style that is characteristic of Jason Wu’s design aesthetic.

In the Philippines, Create by Jason Wu is exclusively distributed by I-digiworld, Inc. “Together with world-class designer Jason Wu, we want the Filipino market to recognize GE as a world-class brand,“ says Andrew Chong, VP of I-digiworld, Inc.

Style and function blend effortlessly in this camera that comes in leather and metal designs. The metal casing camera with 4GB memory retails at P8,995 while the leather casing camera with 8GB memory retails at P10,495.

Create by Jason Wu is available in SM Department Stores, SM Appliance, Robinsons Appliances, Kameraworld, Ansons, Western, Memo Express, Camerahaus, Photoline, Picture City and Wellcom.
