When fashion brings hope

OH YES, IT’S JOHNNY! - Johnny Litton - The Philippine Star
When fashion brings hope
(From left) Your columnist as BDWP adviser, project head Roselle Rebano, selection and organizing committee members Flora Chua, Gambia Consul Agnes Huibonhoa and Tanzania Consul Betty Chua, event chairperson and Angola Consul Helen Ong and selection and organizing committee member Uruguay Consul Marian Ong, Philippine Cancer Society (PCS) chairman Dr. Antonio Ma. J. Guerrero, BDWP selection and organizing committee member Roy Gonzales and PCS trustee Dr. Kelly Salvador during the ceremonial toast.

One of Manila high society’s biggest nights recently took place at the Grand Ballroom of Okada Manila with the Best Dressed Women of the Philippines (BDWP) 16th Annual Awards Ball, the much-awaited prestige event for the benefit of Philippine Cancer Society (PCS).

The elegant yearly event once again raised funds for PCS’ various worthwhile advocacies like cancer prevention, awareness, and support for underprivileged Filipinos battling this disease. It is spearheaded by the tireless BDWP event chairperson Angola Consul Helen Ong with the selection and organizing committee composed of your columnist as adviser, project head Roselle Rebano, and members Tanzania Consul Betty Chua, Flora Chua, Roy Gonzales, Gambia Consul Agnes Huibonhoa and Uruguay Consul Marian Ong. The event was graced by PCS chairman Dr. Antonio Ma. J. Guerrero.

Headlining this year’s ball were 2019 Woman of Style and Influence Alice Eduardo and awardees Caroline Lee Andrade, Hoseki CEO Grace Co, Crystal Jacinto, Irene Bigornia Montemayor, Jessica Lee Nieva, Ruby Canteras Pacis, Jennifer Ty, St. Peter Life Plan Inc. chairman Dr. Mildred Vitangcol, Sunny Wang and Ang Yong Tan Yu.

Also walking the runway were the 2019 Ambassadors for Life, who have been supportive of BDWP and its meaningful cause for years.

This year’s triumphant and well-attended ball would not have been possible without Moments in Heels, Okada Manila, PAGCOR and BA Securities with official event stylist Robert Blancaflor and official lights and sound supplier Forsc Ink Inc.

It is truly one of my favorite times of the year and an advocacy that is near and dear to my heart. I am grateful to everyone who made this year’s series of events a rousing success!

Congratulations to the Best Dressed Women of the Philippines for another successful awards ball! *
