Standout Stats: NBA Finals Game 2

MANILA, Philippines – After dropping Game 1 of the NBA Finals, the Miami Heat came back with a vengeance in Game 2, uncorking a merciless 33-5 run in the second half to torch the San Antonio Spurs, 103-84, and equalize the series at 1-1.

Here are some of the glaring statistics in Game 2.

1. Miami and San Antonio had leading scorers outside of their respective “Big Threes”: Mario Chalmers (19 points) and Danny Green (17 points) for the Heat and Spurs, respectively.

2. Chalmers had the best +/- outing, posting a +30, while LeBron James is second with +29 efficiency for Miami.

3. Danny Green was perfect from the field, hitting 6/6 shots, including five 3-pointers.

4. The Heat had five players scoring in double digits: Chalmers (17), James (17), Ray Allen (13), Dwyane Wade (10) and Chris Bosh (12).

5. After committing only four turnovers in Game 1, the Spurs turned the ball over 16 times in Game 2.

6. The Spurs Big Three of Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker combined for a poor 10/33 field goal shooting.

7. Both teams shot over 50 percent from the 3-point zone. Miami shot 52.6 percent (10/19) while San Antonio recorded 50 percent (10/20).

8. Bosh was the only player for the Heat to grab double-digit rebounds with 10 while Kawhi Leonard and Tim Duncan snatched 14 and 11 caroms, respectively.

9. James played the most minutes with a game-high 40 minutes for the Heat, while Leonard and Parker played 33 minutes each for the Spurs.

10. Former two-time scoring champion Tracy McGrady played in his first finals game, recording two rebounds and two assist but was scoreless.
