Southwoods Chairman's Cup unfolds

MANILA, Philippines - The Manila Southwoods holds its annual Chairman’s Charity Cup today with a banner field vying for top honors in various divisions at the Manila Southwoods’ Masters and Legends courses in Carmona, Cavite.

Unlike in past Chairman’s Cups, this year’s staging of the event, featuring the club’s members and their guests, will be a fund-raising tournament with proceeds to benefit local area schools devastated by the recent Typhoon Ondoy.

Over 400 players are competing in the event, to be played under the Modified Stableford scoring system, with the awards rites set at the end of the two-day event tomorrow.

A brand new Mitsubishi car will be up for grabs in the raffle along with Royal Caribbean cruises, Korean Airline tickets, golf vacations to Malaysia, Boracay, Baguio, getaways to El Nido Resorts, Mactan Island, a SYM Motorbike, golf sets, LCD TVs plus more.
