Drug suspect killed in Batangas ‘shootout’

MANILA, Philippines —  A suspected drug pusher was killed in an alleged shootout with law enforcers in a sting in San Juan, Batangas on Tuesday.

The suspect, identified only as Balot, reportedly drew his gun when he sensed he had transacted with an undercover agent in Barangay Lipahan.

He was taken to the San Juan District Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police said five grams of shabu worth P34,000, a .38-caliber revolver and P500 in marked money were recovered from the fatality.
