Drug ring leader gets life

BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — An accused leader of a drug syndicate operating in this city and other areas has been sentenced to life imprisonment by a local court.

Aside from imprisonment, Rommel Baucas, 54, was ordered to pay a fine of P500,000 by Judge Maria Ligaya Itliong-Rivera of the Regional Trial Court Branch 5.

Baucas, who posed as a vegetable businessman to elude arrest, was nabbed in 2020 after reportedly selling shabu worth P10,000 to an undercover agent.
