Clark declared biker-friendly zone
CLARK FREEPORT, Philippines — State-owned firm Clark Development Corp. (CDC) officially declared Clark as a biker-friendly zone during a recent ceremony held at the Clark parade grounds.
The CDC is currently implementing more infrastructure projects dedicated to cyclists and leisure bikers, according to CDC president and chief executive officer Manuel Gaerlan.
“We are not just building infrastructure. We have ongoing improvements and additional bike paths and pit stop, a cross-country trail, a beginner’s trail for children, and other facilities that will enhance and make Clark biker-friendly,” Gaerlan said.
Gaerlan appealed to the public to respect everyone’s journey and share the road among motorists and cyclists.
CDC chairman Edgardo Pamintuan said the bike-related projects have been i n the pipeline even before the pandemic started.
“People may have thought that Clark is only interested in generating revenues. It’s not, and it is more than that. It is focusing on other areas like supporting Philippine culture and sports,” Pamintuan said.
