Senate probe on missing cockfight players eyed

MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Ronald dela Rosa said yesterday he would file a resolution seeking an investigation into the reported disappearance of at least 29 cockfight players.

According to reports, the disappearance of the cockfight aficionados was connected to the operations of online sabong.

Dela Rosa, who chairs the Senate committee on public order, expressed concern over the ill effects of sabong on ordinary Filipinos, who have been hooked on online gambling.

Dela Rosa called on the Philippine National Police to solve the case of the missing cockfight enthusiasts.
