Caloocan churches serve as COVID-19 vaccination hubs

Ghio Ong - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — The Caloocan City government has tapped local churches to speed up its program to inoculate residents against COVID-19.

Last Friday, around 300 parishioners of the Sagrada Familia parish received COVID-19 vaccine at the Cayetano Elementary School, according to the city government.

Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Barangay 172 and Sto. Niño de Congreso Parish in Barangay 173 were also used as vaccination centers. Both churches allotted a total of 600 slots for the vaccination of their parishioners, the city government added.

The parishes have their own vaccination teams, both supervised by the city’s health department, it noted. Residents may inquire with the parishes for the vaccination schedule.

Mayor Oscar Malapitan thanked the parishes for joining the city government’s vaccination program.
