Quezon City shifts to digital transactions

Romina Cabrera - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — The Quezon City government will implement digital transactions for the application and renewal of business and building permits, Mayor Joy Belmonte announced over the weekend.

Belmonte said the shift to digital transactions would limit face-to-face interactions during the new normal.

“It is high time that we use the benefits that technology can offer and implement creative approaches to ensure everyone’s safety,” she said.

The Business Permit and Licensing Division (BPLD) will now accept application and renewal forms through e-mail.

Walk-in applicants will no longer be entertained and personal submissions will have to be scheduled first with the BPLD.

The applicants will be sent an acknowledgment and status of their application, which will be evaluated by the BPLD.

A team dedicated to monitoring and responding to applications has been established by the BPLD.
